I originally posted this recipe from my mama on my first blog, but it's such a good one that I want to make sure it has a place to live here, too. It’s a perfect make-ahead breakfast that’s truly easy, with an end result that seems incredibly complicated (it’s not) and indulgent. The fresh blueberries and powdered sugar take it to another level, making it perfect for Sunday brunch or anytime you’re feeling fancy.
When it comes to manicures, I have a tendency to alternate between neutrals and reds, with a red mani being my most favorite. It's classic and looks good on just about anyone. (Not to mention, it's perfect for February, amiright?) I typically gravitate toward an orangey red versus a blue red, and have three favorites that I alternate between.
My all time favorite is Essie's Clambake. It's a sheer orangey red, and goes on so glossy; I always get asked what color I'm wearing. Opi's I Stop for Red is a classic, more true red. (It might be a bit hard to find, but is on clearance here.) Zoya's Sooki is a deeper red; I especially like it in the Winter. Stay tuned for a post on my favorite neutrals, coming soon!
I've been a fan of quinoa for a few years. It's tasty and versatile, and one big batch can be used a bunch of different ways. I recently picked up a package of the frozen pre-cooked quinoa from Trader Joes (so easy) and have been on the Pinterest hunt for a few new recipes to try ever since. I made the BBQ Chicken Quinoa Casserole and it was delicious. Hoping to try the rest over the next couple weeks. Please feel free to share links to your favorite quinoa recipes. I'd love to pin and try them!

2017 has gotten off to a busy start. I've launched a few sites this month, including this one; I'll have a fun before and after to share of it soon. I've been trying new things within my designs, mainly the back-end coding stuff that makes everything work, and it's been really challenging and inspiring.
The big news around here is the baby watch we're all on. My sister-in-law was due last Friday, so we're all waiting for "the call" that she's in labor. I can't wait to meet my new niece and see my nephew become a big brother. We spend so much time guessing about what his reaction will be; I'm sure our hearts are about to double in size. In the meantime, we're having fun stocking up on all the fun girl things. I recently bought this. Hearts and black & white stripes? Yes please.
I've been thinking a lot about blogging and social media lately. I've whole-heartedly missed blogging and am happy to be back at it. I'm having mixed feelings about Instagram though. Natalie wrote a really great post about it. I'm pretty disappointed in the whole algorithm change; it sure seems to be what's caused the change. I've also seen an influx of people and brands interacting on a superficial level in an effort to gain followers and it truly bums me out. It's gotten to the point of me considering making my Instagram private, in an effort to have a closer knit community there. Anyone else feeling "meh" about it all? P.S. I officially like Instagram Stories better than Snapchat.
