TERMS OF DESIGN

Studio Hours & Correspondence

I’m typically in my studio Monday through Friday during regular business hours. In an effort to keep my creative batteries charged, I try to limit work on weekends and holidays.

All correspondence typically happens via email. Since there are so many details to cover, it's incredibly helpful to be able to look through our correspondence during the process. I do schedule occasional calls as needed but find the email method absolutely works the best throughout the process. I’m also available via text for quick answers and updates.

Payment Schedule

All payments are graciously accepted through Paypal via emailed invoice.

Standard Orders

  • 25% of the total project fee is required as a deposit to secure your project booking. Deposits are non-refundable.

  • 50% of remaining balance is due at the beginning of the design process

  • Remaining 50% is due prior to launch

Immediate Start & A La Carte Orders

  • Rush & Immediate Start Projects - 50% is required to begin the project with the remaining 50% due prior to launch.

  • Site Updates - The full design fee is due prior to updates being made to the site.

Final invoices not paid within 3 calendar days from the invoice date will incur a $50 late fee per week. Final files and tutorials will not be delivered until all payments have been received.

Tailored Pre-Made Logos

  • Payment is required in full prior to font and color selection and logo proofing.

  • Logos are only sold once.

Design Revisions & Project Cancellations

Due to the nature of design work, refunds are not issued under most circumstances. Should you choose to terminate a project prior to the process being started, refunds must be requested within 7 days of the receipt of your payment. If the design process has already begun, you are required to pay for all work that has been completed up to the cancellation point, at an hourly rate of $125 per hour. Deposits, rush-fees, and payments 8 days or older are non-refundable, and a design credit will remain for one calendar year to use toward future projects. These terms are non-negotiable. Refunds will be processed within 30 days, and completed via the original payment source.

During the design process, you will be granted three rounds of revisions for each step of the process (logo design and individual page design.) Should you require additional revisions beyond the allotted three rounds, each additional round will be billed at $45 each.

Post-launch edits are billed on a case by case basis. Please contact me for a quote.

Turnaround Time

Many factors determine the timeline for a project (complexity of design, revisions, etc.) Most projects average 4-8 weeks once we begin the process, however, each project is unique. You will receive an estimated timeline when you request a quote.

Design Fees & Pricing

When working with me, your investment will look like this:

  • Squarespace Business or Commerce Plan (view their pricing here.)

  • My Design Fee

  • Domain Name (typically $10-$20 annually)

Prior to placing an order, please review the features of Squarespace to ensure they meet all your needs. You are responsible for covering the fees associated with using Squarespace as your website platform.

Pause Clause

Should you need to pause the design process for any reason, or become unresponsive, the project will be put on hold. You will be added to the next available queue spot once you are ready to resume working together. Should you make edits to the Kiki Co template during this period, additional fees will be required to restore the work created prior to the project’s pause. Additional fees may also be applicable to projects changing direction after pausing.

Projects paused for 90 days from the last day of communication by the client will require a $150 re-start fee. Projects paused for one calendar year or more from the start of the project will forfeit all payments and the right to any design work completed.

Permissions & Use

Kiki Co is not liable for any photos, page copy and design elements provided by clients. You are required to have permission before submitting any page copy, design elements or photography to use on your site and accept full responsibility for any misuse or copyright infringement.

Confidentiality & Access

All correspondence, including video tutorials, between you and Kiki Co is confidential and may not be shared or forwarded to others without my expressed written consent. I may need access to your Squarespace and supporting accounts via login info during the design process. I will not share or sell your information under any circumstances.

Site Content

Kiki Co is responsible for the overall template and page design of the site. You agree to provide Kiki Co will all page copy and images, which will be designed for your template.

Printed Works

Kiki Co cannot be held responsible for unsatisfactory printing results and does not issue refunds.

Design Credit & Right to Works

All designs are property of Kiki Co, however you as the client may use the logo files provided to you as you wish with no credit back to Kiki Co. A link to Kiki Co will be placed at the bottom of your site to credit me as the designer. This must remain as long as you have any elements designed or developed by me applied. Logo concepts presented to you that are not selected may be sold as a tailored pre-made logo suite in The Logo Shop.

Agreement

By submitting an order and completing your deposit, you—the client—are acknowledging that you have read, understand and agree to these terms of design.
